With the AKAs
"She arrived with a lifetime of leadership experience and a genuine commitment to service that has defined every step of her sorority journey."
Soror Lynette Sledge Watson was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. on November 13, 2021, through the Saint Louis Alumnae Chapter and is proudly an active member of the Saint Louis Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter. Though relatively new to the bonds of Delta, she arrived with a lifetime of leadership experience and a genuine commitment to service.
Since joining, she has served as Chair of the Economic Development Committee under two administrations, remains active on the Ways & Means and Social Action Committees, and previously served on the Scholarship Committee, during which time she proposed an HBCU Scholarship that committee leadership received approval and implemented. She also previously served on the Founder's Day Committee. She has attended National Conventions in Indianapolis and Washington, D.C., represented the chapter at Central Regional Conferences in Oklahoma City and Des Moines, where she served as an escort, and organized a "Turning Passion to Profit" pitch competition for Delta Academy youth.
Beyond her committee work, she volunteers across the chapter and is focused on mentoring sorors based on her professional experience while continuing to learn and grow in Delta. As an only child who has organically created her tribe and a proud Spelman alumna, she takes the SISTER in sisterhood to heart, believing that we can get business done professionally while having fun and approaching challenges as lessons to be learned and corrected, rather than met with punitive or unsisterly responses.
Professionally, she serves as Regional Director of the Missouri Small Business Development Center through the University of Missouri System and is the Founder and Principal Consultant of LSW Strategic Management and Consulting, LLC. She holds a degree in Economics from Spelman College and an MBA in Finance from Webster University. Her community footprint is broad and deeply rooted.
She serves as Economic Vitality Chair for Delmar Main Street, Board Treasurer and Internal Committee Chair for Prosperity Connection, Co-Chair of the Entrepreneurship Committee for the National Black MBA Association St. Louis Chapter, Regional Coordinator for the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, and Ambassador for Community Women Against Hardship.
Her contributions have been recognized with the Public Service Sector Executive of the Year Award, the Pillar Award for Entrepreneurship, and the Hidden Treasure: Pillars of the Community Award.
